Custom data plotted on Google Maps

Where’s Kenny?

He’s in the lab.. and the lab’s in the Boyd Orr. Guess that’s not much help. I’ll try again.

Kenny is here. (At least, at the time of writing!)

Engadget has a tutorial on this topic, and there’s a wiki here. I’d certainly love to create some applications that use google maps technology though I don’t have time at the moment. Exams coming up.

I did have time, however, to use the tool that myGmaps provide. I’ll Learn and tinker with the technology later.

myGmaps enables you to create, save and host custom data files and display them with Google Maps.

How handy,
for now.

Not quite a custom app, but the following links provides a GREAT armchair tour of North America.

Would be good to expand it to contain a lot more of the university buildings and perhaps into the surrounding area. Quite handy actually.

Also, one of my primary ideas: integrating the WIGLE database with google maps.

The integration of Flickr photos and google maps is something that I find fascinating. Images popping up all over the place…
